First Wedding of the year....Mr & Mrs Slatter

Mr & Mrs Slatter
Saturday 07 February 2015

Lucy walked into the shop on the day I re-opened after Christmas & enquired about flowers for her big day in February....this February, in a month, a month! AAARRRGGGHHH
No panic - Lucy knew what she would like so we started talking flowers & a quote was put together.
Lucy didn't live in Loughborough so we spend many an hour swapping emails to make sure everything was as planned.

The flowers Lucy chose were collected from my supplier & the conditioning process started for our first Wedding of 2015.

Friday morning & it's time to start creating awesomeness.
I started on the tables first, I always like to get the things that I have replicas of done first.
Lucy wanted a low, round arrangement so I use a Naylorbase Oasis posy pad. Once it was soaked through I started to add the different foliage's - Eucalyptus & Soft Ruscus.

Next I started to add the flowers, cream Lisianthus, white 'Avalanche' & cream 'Vendella' Roses.

Then the mini white 'Crystal Blush' Calla Lilies.
I somehow managed to delete the rest of the photos (DOH!) but more flowers were added which you can see further in the blog.

White 'Akito' Roses, Thistles & Eucalyptus were used to make the Buttonholes. I chose to use 'Akito' rather than 'Avalanche' as Lucy's Groom had picked out a picture of what he would like & they were of a smaller Rose. 'Avalanche' can be quite big for a Buttonhole.

Lucy's Bridesmaid carried a hand-tied of white 'Avalanche' & cream 'Vendella' Roses, Thistles & Eucalyptus.
The stems were bound with navy ribbon to match her dress.

Lucy's bouquet was a larger version of her Bridesmaids but white mini 'Crystal Blush' Calla Lilies were added as well. I also added navy beads amongst the flowers.
Her stems were bound with navy ribbon also.

Close up of Lucy's beautiful bouquet.

Lucy & Robin chose The Priest House in Castle Donington for their ceremony & reception venue. It is a beautiful venue tucked away on the edge of the River Trent.

The banister was decorated with Eucalyptus & clusters of white Hydrangea. The weather wasn't predicted to be very good on the day of the Wedding so in case photos were going to be taken inside, the top of the staircase is a good area so we spruced up the banister rail.

The Cake from Marks & Spencer was decorated with Roses, Thistles & Eucalyptus. The pressure was left to me to attach the 'Mr & Mrs' sign .... I hope it looks vaguely in the centre!

The room for the Wedding Breakfast (do people still call it that?!) was decorated to match the navy & white theme perfectly.
The other flowers I added to the table arrangements were white Hydrangea, Thistles & blue Hyacinths.

A better view of the staircase looking up from Reception.
I lost count of how many times I dropped the reel of wire from the top stairs #annoying

The room set up for the Ceremony. The flowers would then be placed onto the Top Table upstairs afterwards.

View of the River Trent stood outside the entrance, it was flowing particularly fast on that bleak day.

The outside of the hotel. I love the older part on the side.

Wishing the new Mr & Mrs Slatter all the very best for your new adventure x
