Mr and Mrs Settle - 15th July

Saturday 15th July 2017 was Alice and James' big day!

Alice's Mum, Judith works at Loughborough Library and has been one of my lovely customers for a number of years now so it was wonderful when Alice chose me to create her Wedding flowers.

Alice and James didn't live local so most of the planning was done through email and Judith.

Their theme was neutrals with blue Thistles to tie in with the Bridesmaids teal coloured dresses. They also wanted to incorporate some funky Cactus and Succulent plants at the venue.

I had decided to close the shop for a break the week of the Wedding so I was able to get creative in my kitchen - just like the old days!

Thistles (Eryngium)

Alstromeria

Greenbell

Mini Gerbera and Spray Rose

Dahlia

Stocks and Lisianthus

Eucalyptus

For the two junior Bridesmaids we created a Flower Wand using Succulents, Thistles, Kalanchoe flowers and Eucalyptus.
Something slightly different than the normal Rose!

Alice's three adult Bridesmaids carried a hand-tied bouquet of Alstromeria, mini Gerbera, Thistles, Stocks, Spray Roses, Dahlia, Greenbell and Eucalyptus with a Succulent.

Their bouquets were finished with cream ribbon.

Alice chose a more trailing style bouquet for herself but using the same flowers and colours as the Bridesmaids.

The Buttonholes were created with Thistles, Lavender, Greenbell and Eucalyptus. They were bound together with silver/grey ribbon.
James wore a slightly larger buttonhole than the other men.

Church

They were married at St Mary's Catholic Church in Loughborough.
I was asked to create two large trailing arrangements to sit on the ledges in front of the Altar.
These were being moved to the venue afterwards and placed onto the Top Table.

I also added cream Tulle and teal ribbon bows along the Aisle to match the theme.

Venue
Alice and James had a marquee in the grounds of Ratcliffe College.
The sides of the marquee were see-through so it made the area feel very open.

On the tables, we kept the Succulent and Cactus theme going.
We filled a bowl with each plant and created a wreath of Eucalyptus that was entwined with copper lights to sit around the bottom of the bowls.

Each table had a different plant.

The bowls and plates were sat on top of our wooden logs to give them a little extra height.

Alice and James had a large free-standing L.O.V.E made and asked for it to be filled with the flowers and colours to match the theme.

It was placed at the entrance to the marquee to welcome their guests.

I loved creating this!

Wishing Alice and James all of the happiness in the world and a big thank you for asking us to be apart of their big day.
